Hi Tom - I opened the Prairie Aflame module from the link you provided above, and had no problems with it? I could see the map, I could place and move units, I could roll the dice, etc. I tried it with both 3.5.4 and 3.4.13 (each is the latest build of its respective version) and in each case that module seemed to work without any problems. If there’s a version of VASSAL which fails to open the module then please post the errorLogs and/or more detailed instructions for how to reproduce the problems you are seeing, as with the module link you’ve provided I am not seeing any problems.
It sounds like you would need to provide us a copy of the module from before you made the repair. Likely the entire problem was the difference Mark describes in the timing of “bad image” reports from 3.2.17 to future versions – 3.2.17 waits until later and “ambushes you” with missing/failed images. 3.4 and 3.5 report them immediately up front so that they’re more likely to get fixed.
