Brand new to Vassal

Hello,

I hope to use this to PBEM with a friend.

  1. Do we both have to have a physical copy of the game of will just the rules suffice for both?

  2. The game once loaded does not have to remain physically set up, if it needs to be at all, correct?

  1. This system operates largely on the honor system. There is no way to enforce that participating players actually own the game. Obviously it is desirable that at least one player does.

  2. No need to set up the physical game at all, as long as the module isn’t missing any components or methods for tracking the game state.

Purchasing one game and then making a copy of the rules was what we had in mind.

Both players have to have Vassal & the game module installed on their computer. As far as the game rulebook is concerned. Most game publishers will have pdf versions of their rulebooks on their website. This is easy to download and each have a rulebook for the game. Also, a lot of times you can check boardgamegeek.com/ and find an official pdf rulebook or a fan made pdf rulebook. Just do some search engine footwork. You should be able to find what you need.
