I just tried 3.2.3 with a saved file from 3.2.2 where I was encountering the “unit flip” problem. (i.e. it would take more than one attempt to flip a unit back up).
It’s better, but not 100%. I tried many individual units (i.e. only one unit in the hex, either selected individually or “lassooed”) and they all flipped back on the first try. Then I tried stacks where only the top unit was flipped and the entire stack was selected. These worked as expected except when the stack had two units. In this case with the top one flipped, usually (though not always) the second one flips but the top one does not flip back. Also with a stack of two, if you select the stack and then double-click (which expands it and selects just the top one), then sometimes it will flip back and sometimes it will not.
I also noticed stacks of two units with both flipped and both selected could do any one of these:
- works fine, both flip back up on the first try
- first try ignored, second try works
- first try only top counter flips back up; second try both flip, which is bad since the top one is now flipped again; third try both flip, which is bad since the bottom one is now flipped again; repeat ad nauseum
- first try top one only flips back up, second try top one only flips back down, repeat
After encountering these problems with two-unt stacks, then sometimes (but not always) the problem will start occurring with individual units!
It’s hard to see any pattern except the fact that problems seem to begin when you select a two-unit stack with one or both units flipped. If you select a stack of two units with neither one flipped, it seems you can do any combination of individiual and multi-select, flip and unflip, and they all work fine - which seems to mean that the seed of the problem with a two unit stack is dragging an already flipped unit on top of another unit (or an unflipped one on top of a flipped one).
I can provide links to the module and saved game file in a PM if you like.
