Hi, I am having a problem when using keyboard shortcuts on all Vassal modules, seemingly at random, when I am using a shortcut, (CTRL + > to rotate for example) it will create a duplicate of the piece. This even happens with pieces that do not have the clone trait and does not happen all the time.

I am using the latest version of Vassal, latest version of Java, OS Windows XP SP3. I have not used Vassal online I have mostly been playing SPQR solitaire.
Sorry, Mark, I have never ever seen or heard of this, so I don’t know how much help I can be. Maybe try to narrow the behavior down to certain pieces or keystrokes or certain modules, if possible?
Also, do you have the problem with Java 1.6.x? Verify the version of Java with Help → Show Error Log from the Module Manager.
In SPQR it happens while rotating, increasing cohesion hits, marking as moved, marking as reduced and about facing. All these commands require you to hold down CTRL + another key… eg < > M F / .
The same happens in all the listed games albeit with differing keystrokes.
My Java Version is 1.6.0_31
My Vassal Version is 3.1.18
Both copies are fully functional? They can be dragged separately, they respond to keystrokes when selected? Does the duplicate appear in exactly the same place as the original? Does this happen on another computer?

I can’t reproduce this. Is it something you can trigger reliably?
