I’m having a problem with a really bad troll on Vassal. He’s not only messing with my games but now he’s also DDoSing me whenever we’re both on. I’ll get dropped when no one else gets dropped and he’s admitted to doing it. Changing my nickname doesn’t help because he still sees my IP and knows it’s me. My questions:
Is there any way to hide my IP on Vassal? (Why do you even show this to people???)
Is there any way to run my IP through some kind of proxy or spoof or something so it’s changed? I know you can do it for web pages but for Vassal I don’t know how I could do it.

Can you describe more fully what the troll is doing?

No.

An SSL tunnel might work for something like this.
Is there any way to get him banned?
There isn’t any banning mechanism in VASSAL 3. The only thing we can
do is block by IP address, but this won’t work if the troll is using
multiple IPs.
I have no idea what he’s doing. I assume it’s something outside of Vassal but I don’t really know. I just don’t understand why I have to broadcast my IP to strangers because this is what happens.
Hi,Jake32383 .I completely agree with uckelman .
The ip address that is visible to others in internet is the public ip address .It is provided by Internet Service Providers(ISP).
If you that person’s ip address , try complaining to his ISP provider about the harassment. To know the ISP of that ip address you can do a IP Search in IP-Details.com and it will show the ISP name ,Location and Country of that Ip address.
