I have a rogue piece in a current campaign pre-defined setup in that it seems to have no properties other than the piece graphic. Of course, this makes it difficult (impossible?) to delete from the pre-defined setup! I had already corrected the piece in the module and if you just swap the on-board piece for the same piece in the Pieces window we are back in business. But any ideas on how to delete the old piece from the pre-defined setup without setting up again from scratch?
-
Extract the pre-defined setup from the module (it should be in there as a .vsav)
-
Edit the module and add a temporary map board. Save the module.
-
Run the module; Load the extracted .vsav.
-
Replace the bad piece with the good piece you created; grab and drag the bad piece to the temporary map board. Exit and save the game.
-
Edit the module and delete the temporary map board. Save the module.
-
Run the module; Load the extracted .vsav.
-
“Retire” and become an observer. Exit and save the game.
-
Edit the module and replace the pre-defined setup with the saved game from above. Save the module.
Fin.
Brilliant! Why couldn’t I think of that? Thanks Rich!
There is a FAQ entry about this. It outlines the basic method Rich suggested as well as one other one.
