Deleting older modules

Why cant i delete older modules or extension, or overwrite them by upload a new one, like on the older website?

As long as the name is the exact same it will overwrite (you may be prompted
that a file with same name already exists).

The log shows your terrainpack uploaded sucessfully and is linked to the module
page - you just need to update the version number on the module page to match

Thus spake Timothy Mccarron:

As long as the name is the exact same it will overwrite (you may be prompted
that a file with same name already exists).

While it is possible, it’s bad practice to overwrite old releases with
new ones.

There should be a version number in every module filename. This way, when
you make a new release, it is clear from the name of the file what version
of the module it is.

If you don’t include the verision number in the the filename (or you do,
but you don’t increment the version number with every release) then users
downloading your module won’t be able to tell what they’re getting. Before
you object that users will always want the current version, recognize that
are many reasons why a user might want an older version of a module. E.g.,
they have saved games which work only with an older version, or for
troubleshooting.

So, please consider using proper version nubmers for your modules and
not overwriting old versions as a service to the users of your module.
