Dialog to create new .vlog

I do this all the time, and it’s really getting annoying. It’s mostly my fault, but I still have the sneaking suspicion that the software could help prevent it:

You open a .vlog file from your opponent and something exciting happens, or there is an opportunity for reaction or you have to make a decision. You forget to begin a new log file, and go right into playing, reacting, or whatever.

You get to the end of the log file, perhaps add your own “turn” in, and go to the File Menu to save and… then you see it. End Logfile is greyed out, and Begin New Logifle is selectable. All the changes, moves, comments you made are all for nought!!!

Would it be possible for the program to interrupt the user who types in the text buffer, or makes a change to the pieces or the board before they’ve selected Begin New Logfile? Perhaps with a popup dialog that says, “Do you wish to start a new log file now?” Seems to me that the software “knows” a new log hasn’t been started because of the selectable Begin New Logfile and greyed out End Log File that are in the file menu…

In preferences, try clicking on the ‘Ask to start logging before a Replay?’ option.

Ooh, no idea that was there… thanks for the pointer!

This is only in the Preferences at the individual module level, though, not in the Editor file menus. Does that mean it has to be turned on in EACH module?
