Drawing on a board?

Is it possible to draw map terrain on a board, instead of pulling premade tiles out?
Case in point, for a tabletop RPG. Some of them are less prep and more improv, which makes it awesome-fun. I’ve looked at doing ‘meetings’ via teamviewer, or using one of those online whiteboards, but none really allow me to draw well AND move ‘pieces’ around effectively. Dice is a problem, too.

Duck,
You might be better off using MapTool for that (www.rptools.net).

Hm. I’ve looked at that before, but it’s better for prepped RPG’s from what I can see. I can’t figure out how to do it on the fly… and, well, I don’t need a fancy png for everything in the game. That’s what the narrative is for.

Thus spake duckwagon:

VASSAL 4 will support some basic drawing primitives (probably just
lines, arrowheads, ellipses, and rectangles)—so you should be able
to do what you want sometime in the future.
