I enabled compiz on my desktop at work and it works fine with the demo. Here’s a screenshot:

My card is an NVIDIA e-GeForce 7950 GT. Apparently, I wasn’t using it to full effect…
Looks like the problem is your video driver. I have the same one at home so I’ll have a go and see what happens.
