Ladder and Tournament Support

Want to run a tournament for your VASSAL-supported game?

Want to maintain a ladder of player rankings?

Then you should know that the VASSAL web site supports tournaments and ladders via the professional software package My Gaming Ladder.

Go to tournaments.vassalengine.org and set up your ladder or tournament today!

Seems the tournaments.vassalengine.org site appears to be down.

Have tried over the past 2 hours w/o success…anyone know when it might be back up ?

Thanks
Thomas

try www.vassalengine.org/tournaments instead

Well that would help -having the correct URL!

Thanks

Can we make a new tournament ? On a new game ? If yes, how to do this ??

The tournament site has been disabled temporarily while we sort out some issues with it.
At that time - yes I can set you up. Just post what you need or game to be added.

Our Goal (VassalFrance), it’s to make some tournaments in order to discover short game and Vassal in France.

The first game is Kahmaté, i’ll make it in Module list this afternoon.

Can we choose the tournaments style ?? division, playoff ??

PS : Sorry for my poor english

Any chanse that work is part of the ELO code? ;)

Neither of these links are working. Is this a temporary issue?

As I noted a few posts earlier, the sub site has been temporarily disabled while some issues are sorted out on it.
I will post here again when we bring it back online

I just stumbled on this. I know it’s two years old, but is this feature back up and running?

Thanks,

Chris

Well, here it is July, 2020 and neither link works. What’s up with this?

Posts about the tournament site are from when we were at our previous web host, using completely different infrastructure. I think the “temporarily down” message was from the middle of the emergency which resulted in building the current site, probably before the point when we realized that we would be needing to build the current site. Basically nobody was using the tournaments part of the site, so it’s not a thing we included when we rebuilt.

Maybe change this topic so it doesn’t appear as the very first topic in this part of the forum.

Also the other two topics of this kind, “Mailing List details” and “Useful Links”, I think they belong in the museum by now

I hadn’t noticed that. Done.

I’ve done that with “Useful Links” as well.

The mailing list details are still current.

Actually the tournament stuff still resides here on the server in a folder somewhere. We turned it off right before the new site launch because there was issues with the software not being fully secure and while I and others using it tried to get the developer to address it, and said they were working on it, it never happened. The stuff became vaporware soon after…

Ah, right—this was such a long time ago, it’s hard for me to remember
the details. I knew it had something to do with security, which is
what made me think of the problem we had with the old, old CMS.

Cage match. One cage, one board game, two players.

Only one leaves alive.
