Hi folks - Is the idea of having logfiles with counters already setup for pre-existing scenarios something that makes sense? Specifically I’m wondering if the starter scenarios for OGRE are anywhere but I suppose the question applies to any module.
Or are logfiles so specific to each player that having generic logs that anyone can load not something that would work?
I might have asked the wrong question (sry I’m new to all this, and it’s all so exciting!) - it looks like there are save files in addition to logfiles. Maybe it’s the save files I’m talking about.
Yes, saved games are what you want. They can be embedded in a module (the terminology used in the Editor is “Pre-defined Setup”), or just sent directly to someone you want to share them with. The key thing to remember when creating a saved game to use as a scenario setup (if a module has defined player sides) is to always change sides to “observer” before saving the file. If you fail to do this, whatever player side you occupy at the moment of saving will be locked to your module password, and unavailable for selection by anyone else who subsequently loads the file.
Excellent. Thanks for the reply and the tip.
