Looking for Advice on Scanning

I’m interested in doing a module, but the board for the game is much much bigger than a scanner. I’m worried that I’ll have glare if I use a camera. I’m also worried that doing segments may lead to coloration differences between each portion that I stitch back together.

Anyone have any advice on how to do it?

I think I’m good to go with the smaller stuff, but the larger parts are definitely problematic for this project.

I appreciate the help and no, I’m not revealing what the project is because it’s for my personal use only for learning purposes.

Thus spake “sparty”:

Use Hugin to stitch your scans together:

hugin.sourceforge.net/

Here’s a tutorial showing how:

I discovered this two days ago, and hadn’t yet had time to post about
it. Following the directions here, I was able to put together scans of
some of my wife’s artwork so well that she couldn’t find the seam.

This should work brilliantly for assembling map scans.

Oh wow, nice find Joel. Wish I had that tool before stitching together the 30 scans for GBII. :frowning:

Thus spake “bsmith”:

This does such a nice job, it might be worth restitching them.
