Looking for opponent(s) from Europe

Hy guys and girls,

I’m fairly new to Vassal and i am actively searching for opponents ( you kind of got that from the subject title). So long story short if you’re looking for someone to play with i am living in a GMT+2 timezone, i can do Monday. Friday, Sunday night and maybe Saturday night. Heck who needs a day job ?!!! I can do them all if you get me going )))).
My interest are mainly wargames ( Hannibal, Twilight Struggle, Memoir, C&C Ancients, C&C:Napoleonics) and any game that has intelligent design and good narrative properties. I am a total history buff and learning new things is not a problem , that’s one of the reasons boardgames are fun. Anyway if you fell like i would be a good opponent for you or a good addition to the team PM me and let’s get this show on the road. 'Nuff said. PM me. Please . Thank you:-)

See you guys

hi

I am in london

i play a lot of twilight struggle and would recommend 1960 the making of a president and labyrinth as other games to play

let me know

Richard

If you can’t get any players in your timezone for VASSAL games in real time, I recommend PBEM using VASSAL. With less time pressure you can plan your moves better.

PBEM works best for older games where one player does all their moves and attacks then the other player for example Siege of Jerusalem. It’s not so good for impulse style games like Turning Point Stalingrad.

Thank you @etopp62 . that is a good advice. @helmseye thank you for the reply. I’ve heard about 1960 and labyrinth but haven’t played them yet. I’ll PM you and get a game started as soon as i can.

Hello ,
I’m from Italy, my GMT is +1.
I play only Up Front.
If you like play Up Front contact me.
I can assure you one evening in the week to play.
Bye
Alessandro

Hi,

I’m just outside London and enjoy most historical games.
Played a bit of Twilight Struggle, but don’t like it to be too competitive/ rushed - prefer PBEM, or live play while chatting on Skype (FtF over a beer even better!).
CC Ancients certainly good in real time, but a game with some element of impulses (cards played out of turn, retreats to determine) - as etopp62 says these type of games are better live play.
And I’m a big fan of EuroFront II series of games, which works extremely well PBEM. If you haven’t played and want to give it a try then happy to help you learn EastFront II.

So if you are still looking for players and any of these sound of interest send me a PM.

John

Wanna try Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage PBEM? I’ve only play-tested it for myself, so no experience with it.
