M44 - add Command Cards after vsav

Hi,

I just tried to re-create one of the new scenarios from the Winter Wars expansion in Vassal by creating a new game, loading the winter Breakthrough board and then dragging all the terrain hexes and units into place and saving as a vsav. When I came to start the game to my intense annoyance I remembered that you need to add a “side board” when creating the game else you don’t get your deck of command cards!

Is there any way I can edit my vsav file to include the side board, or am I just going to have to re-create the whole thing again from scratch?

Cheers,
Matt

I think you’ll have to recreate. The side board is already in the build
file, changing it’s state there will not alter it’s state in your vsav file

It is not changing the side board itself. Memoir '44 modules use one VASSAL “board” for the actual gameboard, and one VASSAL board (the side board) to hold the card deck. So what is wanted do is to change the board selection/add a board to the vsav file.

And that’s what Im saying - your not going to be able to do that in the save
file. The prompt only happens when creating a new game or building a fresh
save game file - you cannot internally edit the save file. You’ll need to
recreate it to fix the mistake
