Operating System: Vista
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.00 GHz
Memory: 3.00GB
Video Card: GeForce 8600 GT
Vassal version: 3.1.10
Java version: 1.6.0\_15
Having some difficulty loading the maps for Battle Above the Clouds ([http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com\_vassal\_modules&task=display&page=Files&module\_id=25](http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&page=Files&module_id=25)). It’s taking 30-40 seconds to load when you open the “Test” scenario.
Compare this to any of the scenarios in my 1805 module ([http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com\_vassal\_modules&task=display&module\_id=760&page=Files](http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=760&page=Files)) which load in just a few seconds despite the fact that the 1805 map is bigger.
Any ideas what’s going on here?

The problem is that the map images are JPEGs which have unusual color
profiles, and loading JPEGs with nonstandard color profiles is slow.
If you remove the color profiles (say, by opening the JPEGs in GIMP and
resaving them) the images will load between five and six times faster
than they do now.
