Does the file size of maps affect memory, i.e. can a very large map file size cause out of memory problems?
File size is not relevant. The pixel dimensions of your image(s) dictate memory consumption.
Can you be more specific? What are the dimensions of the map in question? To what do you have the max heap set for the module it’s in?
I was just curious as I’ve seen several modules with very large file size maps. I try to keep mine small while maintaining images true to the printed maps and was wondering if this affected max heap needed or not. JoelCFC25’s note that it’s more due to pixel size than file size makes sense.
