I concur with everything but what you say about newly created
modules and
extensions. I think they shouldn’t appear in the MM if they haven’t
been
saved yet—until that point, none of the operations the MM can do
on them
are applicable.

Yes, that is what I meant. Whenever the Editor Save’s or Save As’s a
module or extension, or when the Player Saves a file, then it should
send the pathname to the MM which may cause an update of the display.

There should also be either a periodic* or a manually triggered update
as well. That way, if you download and put a new module in the
directory, it will also appear in an already running module manager.

*Depending on how fast this is, it might be worth doing each time the
MM pane gets the focus.
