# Possible Error in VASSAL Reference Manual "Place Marker" Text?

In the Place Marker trait description in the VASSAL Reference Manual, I noticed the following description on how to link a placed marker to its parent piece as follows: {UniqueID==“$ParentID$”}. I tried using that in the “Set Piece Property” trait “Additional Matching Expressions”, and it doesn’t seem to work. However, when I changed it to {ParentID == “$UniqueID$”} (reversed the properties), it does work.

If I understand how it’s supposed to work, ParentID is in the subordinate piece, and the UniqueID of the parent is being referred to. So the correct nomenclature is {ParentID == “$UniqueID$”} and should be updated in the Reference Manual?

If you log into [GitHub](https://github.com/vassalengine/vassal) and go to the [`Marker.adoc`](https://github.com/vassalengine/vassal/blob/master/vassal-doc/src/main/readme-referencemanual/ReferenceManual/Marker.adoc#top) file, you can press the pencil icon ✏ on the top-right, and make an edit. Then that will become a _Pull Request_ which can be merged in by a project maintainer.

If you do that, and the change gets merged in, then remember to mark this as solved by marking an appropriate post.
