Reacting to neighbouring counter

is it possible to pick up whether a piece is next to another piece, so that it affects what actions are available to it? IE can only access close combat menu if there is an adjacent piece?

I did some work on this line back in Jan anad Feb, for my AH-Waterloo module. However it requires some code enhancemetns which are not released to the trunk yet.

I suggest triggering a GKC with range=1 matching the property (say Type = infantry) you want to test for. The other piece has a GKC that activates a reply GKC range=1. This reply GKC triggers a set of actions in the original piece that changes the available menu options (gray-outs and the like). Make sure you keep a list of GKC so you don’t accidentally assign a previous allocated one.
