Trying to run Vassal for the first time on my desktop, but it won’t open.
- Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
- CPU: Intel Cote i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
- Memory: 16GB
- Video Card: GeForce GTX 970
- Vassal version: 3.2.17
- Java version: 1.8.0_144
When trying to start Vassal, I get the error message:
“The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted.
The system cannot find the path specified.”
I’ve re-downloaded and reinstalled both Java and Vassal a few times. I don’t have a errorLog for you because there isn’t a Vassal folder in C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\VASSAL

That won’t help, because what the error message is telling you is that
you likely have a bad key in your registry.
Have you checked in Add/Remove Programs whether it shows more than one
version of Java installed?
