Total krieg module

Hi
I am playing total krieg
I am using latest mod v2.2.1, i think my opponent is using v2.1
I am waliies and soviet and he is axis
Things going ok
this am I loaded up my vassal and it said it could not read my preferences
asked for my name and a password, so I gave details (not sure if identical to last time I was asked)
once I loaded latest vlogfile from my opponents it is only letting me play as either wally or soviet
Is it a problem with my vassal or with the module?

Thus spake “Samei”:

You need to post the exact error message you saw; without that, we can’t
help you.

Also, it would be best if you and your opponent were using the same version
of the module.

Hi
it still says something along the lines it can’t find my data
In the end I started a new game and just moved the pieces to the last position then sen to my opponent who did his option cards

Hi
I have Vassal 3.1.4 on a Mac
the error message is “can’t write to the preferences (program pathway)/Preferences”
I don’t always get this message

Thus spake “Samei”:

Does that path exist? Do you have the proper permissions to write to it?

I have occasionally gotten this error as well on the Mac.

The odd thing about it is that the Preferences file does write correctly, even with the error. That led me to wonder if there were some way that the preferences file might be getting written twice in separate threads, and that the error occurs when both threads try to write at the same time.

Thus spake Thomas Russ:

That’s quite possible. If that’s really what’s happening, then it will
be fixed in 3.2, since there we’re writing the Preferences file a different
way.
