Turn Track Design

I have a Turn Track with Year, Month, 6 Phases(ea of the 6 phases has 4 segments) + 1 Terminal Phase. The Terminal Phase has no sub phases(ie: End of Month Phase). How do I go about setting up the Turn Counter so that the Terminal Phase does not include the segments in the previous 6 Phases?

Your overall structue should end up looking like this:

Year [Counter]

  • Month [List]
  • Phases [List]
  • SubPhases [List
  • End of Month [List]

Your Month component will have 2 sub-components, the List of 6 phases, followed by a list with just 1 entry - the end of Month phase.

Thanks for the reply Brent, I think I have it set correctly

Turn Track[Turn Counter]
…v Year[List]L1
…v Month[List]L2
…v Naval Phase[List]L3
…v Player Segment[List]L4
…v Move/Spot[List]L5
…v Terminal Phase[List]L(6?)

, however I’m having problems with the reporting.

I have the “Turn Name Format” set as:

$Player Segment$ $Naval Phase$ $Month$ $Year$

The “Report Format” set as:

$Player Segment$ $Move/Spot$ $Naval Phase$ $Month$ $Year$

(I left out the “Terminal Phase” from above, as I don’t know where to put it).
The Terminal Phase(with Month and Year only) should be reported following the 6th Phase. Everything else reports correctly.
(btw, different game module from before)
Thanks much.

Jim,

Terminal Phase is a Level 3 element, same as Naval Phase

Try $level4$ $level5$ $level3$ $level2$ $level1$

This allows you to reference the current setting of the turn counter at each level, rather than using each property name. It doesn’t make sense to refer to $Naval Phase$ when you are in the Terminal Phase.

This is the way you are supposed to reference the current turn levels in the Turn Name Format. Someone has edited this out of the reference guide unfortunately.

Try something like

Turn Updated from $oldTurn$ to $newTurn$

The format of $oldTurn$ and $newTurn$ are set by the Turn Name Format.

Hi Brent, I tried $Level4$ $Level5$…$OldTurn$ to $NewTurn$…etc, but that’s what read in the chat window, not the actual phase names.
Thanks(William, actually,lol)

Sorry William,

Works for me…See attached screen shot

I copied your example, but no difference. May I send the Mod?

William,

The problem is in the 'Turn Level Format ($levelx$): field in each turn level. You should just be using $value$, not $value1$, $value2$ etc.
