I’ll need to see my preliminary objective before deciding on unit and leader placement and strategy card selection. Should I go ahead and draw one in my logfile? Edit: Also, are we going to be using official artifact placement rules? In either case, I’d like to see where the artifacts are before selecting my strategy and unit placement. Maybe we can go ahead and draw and place an artifact as part of our initial turns (pre-strategy)? ---

I took my preliminary objective (assumed I was supposed to), and strategy card selection is everything but Tech II. Edit: forgot about placing artifacts. There are only 7 systems that are legal places to put one. What happens when you can’t put all 8 out? ---

I did some rule-looking-up and noticed that I was mistaken about artifacts. I rarely play with them and had always put out all 8. I’ve just discovered it’s one per player. @SAAR - please add to my turn I take Tech II and I place the first artifact on Zohbat. That should cover everything rbelikov needs to do his turn. ---

I will let you move units from your homesystem if your homesystem has multipule planets before the first round has taken place. I want to make sure everyone is doing things correctly first. SO PLEASE take your first turn. Draw your own preliminary card so I don’t know what it is. ---

You guys are waiting on me. As I stated before, I’ll usually take my turn in PDT evenings, which is certainly the case today. I can post quick messages throughout the day but can’t do anything significant tlll work’s done and my 2-year old is asleep 🙂 Edit: Note that if we do it by the book, artifact placements happen before strategy card selection. In fact, I believe they would affect my strategy card selection (and conversely I don’t want my strategy card selection to affect others’ artifact placements). So I would prefer to see where everyone places their artifacts before selecting my strategy card, but I can certainly do all the other stuff tonight. ---

Naalu I know you have already placed your plastic, go back, grab your preliminary card, and place 1 artifact token. Saar, when it comes to your turn, grab your preliminary, place your plastic, place your artifact card. We can still wait in strategy cards. Frankly, I still don’t know if all of us are on the same page with understanding logfiles. I don’t want to keep making the board again and again to see if that is what it comes down to. ---

Looks like AbsoluteZero already drew a preliminary objective, and asked me to place an artifact on Zohbat. So (unless JP objects), I’ll plan on placing two artifacts (mine and Naalu’s) in my logfile if AbsoluteZero doesn’t submit a new logfile ahead of me. By the way, I have not heard a consensus regarding filename conventions. Seveal ones were proposed. JP, do you want to make a ruling? ---

Rus had a good idea for naming logflies. Something like this would be helpful Strat\_Round00\_turn0x\_rbelikov Meaning Strategy Phase, round 1 turn x player name. Also when we did play by forums on the wiki website we did something called a CCTAP Command counters trade goods, action cards political cards. would like something like this 2/3/3 0/0/2 If you wanted to post this as a reference when you posted your logfile, its a nice quick reference. (not necessary though) Rbelikov its ok you posted his artifacts for him, but next time I need a PM about it. ---

Ok, done. Notes: Will pick my strategy after artifacts are done (I assume I can just state my strategy here w/o a logfile when the time comes?) Naalu, you are missing a control marker on the scoring track. I also noticed that you put your starting techs in your private area. Shouldn’t they go to the map area, so that everyone can see at a glance everyone’s current powers/modifiers? JP, how are you planning on handling the stage II objectives? Shuffle in the imperium rex card with 4 other stage two objectives when someone is about to draw a stage II objective? [size=200]N’orr up[/size] ---

Thanks for placing the missing artifact. Sorry to JP for no PM about it. Didn’t even occur to me to do that. I’ll be more conscientious in the future. Should I move techs to the map next chance I get? I suppose it does make more sense to have them there for fast reference of other players. ---

You can move the strategy card there if your ok with it, though since we all know your taking it, we can just wait too, not necessary to have a new download for that. Actually, after artifacts are placed, just publicaly state what strategy card your taking. When all are taken, I will update them, place Distant Suns and frontier counters and provide a new logfile to start the game. On that note, are we playing with the imperium rex card? Its something I’ve never used except for the first time yesterday and it gave me a very cheap win. So up to you guys. If we are, I will make the 1 deck of public objectives. First I will do the stage 2, shuffle in imperum rex, then put the stage 1 on top of those cards.
