I encountered a possible bug when playing TS with “CCW with optional cards” variant.
I was US, and had Formosan Resolution in hand. The Soviet player didn’t have the China Card unlocked yet. I was unable to play Formosan Resolution as an event. Probably the logic of the card somehow depends on the the status of the China Card, and if it isn’t in the game, yet, the logic fails and prohibits Formosan Resolution to be played. Maybe this is by design, but the card text doesn’t suggest the card is only playable if the China Card is in play.
Can anyone reproduce this behaviour, or knows if it is intended?
You can’t play Formosan Resolution until the USSR places 3 influence in
China. 12.4 in the rulebook. The card text doesn’t say anything because
the CCW variant is an optional rule.
