The VASSAL-src directory (especially in the uckelman-caching branch) is
starting to collect a lot miscelaneous files, namely:
a shell script
a batch file
a Windows executable
the JSmooth config file which produced it
the manifest for Vengine.jar
Rodney’s ant build.xml
a Makefile
two turtledoves
a partridge in a pear tree
I propose moving these things into a subdirectory called ‘misc’.
I propose moving the VASSAL and org directories into a directory
called ‘src’. Reason: It would be nice to have the whole source
hierarchy under one directory, and have nothing else in that hierarchy.
This makes it clear where the source code is.
My first association with ‘build’ is a place for built things to go,
not as a place for things which are used in building. Hmm. I don’t
like ‘misc’, either, it’s just what came to mind first.
Ok, I’ve done that on my uckelman-caching branch (the source of the
recent svn builds). When the time comes to merge that branch into
trunk, we’ll pick up the directory restructuring as part of the merge.
