Uninstalling Vassal

I would like to uninstall vassal entirely from my PC to begin clean slate with the latest version. The problem is I seem to have several versions, two which I can access directly and others lurking which come up when I try to open certain files. Frequently, I get error messages relating to a file having been created in another version.

I also have a downloaded vassal game (my own, Down With the Empire) which I can’t get rid of. I have a newer version, which I use by opening it directly from vassal, but when I hit certain links they send me to the old version. I have tried uninstalling it through Windows control panel, and although it seems to work, next time I reboot it’s there again.

Finally, I have VASL 5.0 installed, which no longer works (I get this error when I try).

java.lang.Exception: cache failed forhttp://www.vasl.org/ws/vasl5.jnlp

at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

So, how can I get rid of everything- vassals, vasl, DWTE?

To uninstall, open Java Web Start. In the preferences, clear the temporary file cache.
