Is it possible to use an expression (referring to the value of a dynamic property of the piece or to the name of a layer of the piece) as name of a prototype?

No, and never will be. Prototypes are completely expanded out when a piece is built, before the Dynamic Properties or Layers have been initialised and before it gets anywhere near a board, or is in any way functional.
Good news is that not wrong syntax spoiled my attempt. And working with “replace with other” to exchange for an - almost - identical piece sporting the desired other prototype was not too much of bad news either.
