Vassal 3.2.16

Hi Joel,

I’m finally starting to find a bit of time again. Have been building a new module and have found a few bugs in current Vassal I would like to fix. What is the current state of 3.2.16? If I check a few things in, will you have time to build a new version?

Cheers,
Brent.

That’s good to hear. I’m on holiday through tomorrow, but I should have
time when I’m back.

Any chance we can get distinct “Save” and “Save As…” options in 3.2.16? The current “Save” options really acts like “Save as…” prompting you if you want to overwrite the file you already have open. -Sully

I’m trying to remember why we did that, or if it was even a conscious
decision at all. I do wonder if changing it now will mess people up.

I won’t mess me up, if that sways you.

Standard software format dictates that “Save” will overwrite and “Save As.”
will allow the user to specify filename and location. We would best follow
suit

I would take this opportunity to note that “Import” has had a standard
meaning for ages as well…

I’ll look into this sometime in the next few days.

This is in the Editor, right? I tried replicating this just now, but failed. When I make a change and go to File > Save (or use the Save icon) I don’t get prompted.

No, it’s during game play when you’re saving the game. It prompts you to write over the file you have open. -Sully

Just released 3.2.16. Let’s try to get this done for 3.2.17.

There are a few annoyances I promised would be fixed before V4. This
is one. I expect there will be a handful of bug fixes we accumulate
before V4, as well.
