I have noticed 2 more functions … but if not currently planned in 3.2 … :question: You have certainly changed priorities…

+ Zuntzu Importer

+ Linked Pieces (said by Rk to be included in the new version …) : This function allows to move pieces and pieces attached on them … I think a dedicated thread is already here … in the Design Module Section.

Maybe in 3.2.1 or 3.3 ???

This is something that everyone always says would be easy, but it’s just a question of priorities. Certainly, I’m not keen on importing ZunTzu modules if we can’t match the graphical capibilities and that is on the todo list. This is really the only area where VASSAL falls behind ZunTzu because ZunTzu isn’t really much more besides very good graphics.

Neither of these will be in 3.2.1 unless they’re also in 3.2.0, because
there will never be new features in a micro version which is not zero.

I can’t say about the linked pieces. I’m unsure what came of that. If
the work isn’t already done for it, then it’s unlikely to be in 3.2.

For the ZunTzu importer, I wasn’t planning to work on it for 3.2, but
since you’re asking for it, I started it this evening. I’ve written XML
schemas for the gamebox and saved game formats, and have a test program
which will slice counters out of the countersheets based on the
definitions in the gamebox. It’s only a few more evenings of work to
finish it, so I’m sure it will be done by the end of June.

Don’t expect modules imported from ZunTzu to be up to the usual standard
for VASSAL modules, though. There’s very little information in a ZunTzu
gamebox, so all you’ll end up with is a bunch of two-sided counters (which
won’t even have useful names!) and a map.

There’s code developed for grouping pieces at http://www.fightingchaos.com/vassal/battle/index.html I think it’s fairly general-purpose. We just need someone to take ownership of integrating it into the core engine. I was planning on doing it, but I don’t expect to get to it before April. If it hasn’t been done before the rest of 3.2 is ready, we’ll let it slip until v3.3.
