Vassal installed - moused clicks now working

OS - Windows 7 (64 bit)

I was able to get Vassal updated (was running previously). However, now I can’t get the Vassal GUI buttons to work at all with my mouse. Keyboard only gets you so far. I know it’s not my mouse and I highly suspect is some sort of Java issue (damm you oracle) since Vassal is a Java app using swing. So how can I check that it’s using the correct (needed) JRE? I have download (java for computer) jre1.8.0_60 and it should be using that ok?

That java is in my PATH.

Thanks for any help to get this working again.

Check the Error Log (look in the Help menu) after you’ve started VASSAL.
You’ll see which JRE you’re using in the first few lines.

J.

I had to roll back to an older Java 7 JRE which seemed to fix the issue. Not sure why java 8.x is having problems for my windows 7 for me. Have seen this issue with other java based programs recently.

One issue that still remains is that the pop-ups for unit stacks don’t display (unconditional surrender mod), I’m fairly sure this is some sort of java related issue. Even when I disable the feature (active using cntrl-space) it doesn’t fully work appropriately.
