1200 new players within one hour

We are planning an event. There will be about 1,200 participants. There will be approximately 30 players per game with unknown amounts of observers for each game. The event will be conducted around VASSAL, the event will have an official start time, but we estimate it will take 30+ minutes for all games to get organized and started.

It is my current understanding that the VASSAL server acts mainly as a match-making service and RPC messaging service. This leads me to believe that, although it will be an unusual event appearing on the logs, it should not be an issue in terms of resources and stability.

Does that sound about right? Or am I missing something that may cause a snafu?

That’s accurate. There shouldn’t be a problem with that amount of extra
traffic.
