3.1 b6 - Glitch more than a bug

Sorry if there is another thread…

I’m on a Mac - OS 10.4 - PPC

Just DL’d the beta and when it loads up the ‘wizard’ at the beginning:

(World at War 1.5.3 as an example, though other mods seem to function the same,)

Screen 1 of Wizard - ‘Select Play Mode’ - Select new offline

Screen 2 - Choose Side… Text on left - ‘Steps’ (over the image,) stays put and new text loads over it - though the same text - new is offset some - perhaps from the formatting or something.

Screen 3 - Map - Same thing

(BTW - I love the idea of the Module Libary - will modules such as the 40k or Combat Commander, which has it’s own jnlp run file eventually be able to be used with this?)

Thus spake “dan1066”:

Is the problem here is that the wizard is ugly? That’s something I intend
to clean up for 3.2. Unless it’s causing some loss of function, it’s not
going to be fixed before then, as we’re just about to release 3.1.0.

That depends on what the module designers for those modules do.

All functionality is still there, just an overlap of text…

I’ve attached an image (with shading added by me…) to show what is going on.

Thanks Dan,

There appears to be a problem with the left-hand panel in the wizard not refreshing correctly as you move through the steps. I have already noted this and included it in Bug [2286742] which includes other funnies in the Welcome Wizard. This has been passed on to our Wizard expert Rodney.

Regards,
B.

Thus spake “dan1066”:

This is known problem and will go away when we rework (or get rid of) the
Welcome Wizard, possibly in VASSAL 3.2.
