As I’ve mentioned in a few previous posts, I’m old(er) and my eyesight is poor even w/ glasses.
It would be a tremendous help if we had the option to increase chat log font sizes quite a lot more than the current maximum (like up to a factor of 2x from current max).
I note there was a request dating all the way back to 2018 on this…
I realize the devs are focused on 4.x, but if this is a simple change in 3.x it would be great to get it in… And of course also get this into 4.x…
The feature you want already exists. Look in Preferences > Chat Window.

Is there a reason you don’t set the UI scaling higher for your windowing system? Why is this a problem just for the Vassal chat pane?
It could be that window scaling does not affect all Java Look’n’Feels. That is, if a non-system Look’n’Feel is used - as on Windows (but not on MacOS or Linux) - then the change of window scaling will not change the UI scaling of Vassal.
On MacOS, the UI scaling is set through System settings→Display
If you need to change the Look’n’Feel see Set VASSAL Look’n’Feel.

I’m on Windows and I’m familiar with the system setting for larger text. Unfortunately, a lot of applications don’t scale properly when you use it. I used it for a bit and then had to revert to Normal Text size.
I would like to see more text scaling options in Vassal for the chat log. Unlimited text scaling is currently present within the editor, so if I want to have 100pt font on my counters I can… But the chatlog is limited to 18.
