I am experimenting with getting a game started online. I started up two computers with the same versions of VASSAL and same versions of BSG.
On Computer 1, I logged in as User 1. I selected look for a game online, created a “new game” and then started up a new game as Player 1.
On Computer 2, I logged in as User 2. I joined the “new game” and then started up a new game as Player 2. I then had User 2 “synchronize” with User 1. The text window on User 1 shows “Sending game info”.
But now, on Computer 1, the Player 1 button does not bring up a player window. I clicked on “Retire” and it asked if I wanted to give up my position as Player 2! What the heck happened?
What is the proper procedure of getting several computers to sign up for the same game and get synchronized?

Thanks. Wow, that’s pretty subtle. I was using different user names (so I could identify which computer was which), but I was using the same passwords. So the answer is that I must use both different user names AND different passwords.
The password is really the key thing that must be different. It just makes
sense to change the username also so you can remember which pw is associated
with which name
