Battlestar Galatica FFG - Player Disconnect Rules?

Hey everyone, not sure this is the best place to put this topic, seemed like it might be though.

I’m wondering if anyone has figured out any house rules on a player disconnecting that can allow the game to resume minus that player and still be balanced.

From what I know, when a player disconnects their slot is still tied to them. So someone can’t just take over. Also means you can’t look at their loyalty card - that’s the part that makes continuing difficult.

Here are some ideas I have, no idea how viable or good they might be. Looking if someone has thought of something better?

  1. Remaining players put loyalty cards back in loyalty deck. Deck is remade using the game rules -1 player.
(Problem is loss of game integrity, players who were human might be cylon now, visa versa)

  2. Pre-sleeper phase, do the sleeper phase early. Moving an existing game mechanic earlier is less arbitrary.
(Problem is it give the cylons an edge, if everyone was human. Humans are alreadyahead if the DC’d person was cylon. Won’t work past sleeper phase)

Hmm thought I had more ideas than that but I’ve forgotten them. So yeah, anyone have this figured out?

Ideally… if a player leaves before the game is complete, he should be using the RETIRE button. This should leave his player position open for someone else to join into. Or if there was not someone else to join that player slot, one player could choose to take two player slots alternately. I.E. RETIRE from player 1, Join as Player 4, and then keep alternating so that one person is playing player 1 and 4.

Ideally, this is like if the player loses their internet connection or something though
