Bug when rotating pieces - beta4

Using V40K 5.1.

Drag an Ork Warboss onto the map. Press Alt-1 to display his 2" range circle. Press it again to hide the circle.

Press Ctrl-right arrow to rotate him one step. The selection circle remains in the correct place but the sprite snaps out of place up and to the right.

Press Alt-1 to display his range circle again. The sprite snaps back into the correct place. Press Alt-1 to hide the circle and he snaps out of place again.

This behaviour doesn’t occur using the same module with vassal 3.0.

Thus spake “Boss Ardnutz”:

Try one of these builds with version svn4390 or greater:

nomic.net/~uckelman/tmp/vassal/

Does the problem still happen there?

Installed svn4397.

Same problem happens but needs a slightly different set of inputs to cause it.

  1. Drag warboss onto map
  2. Alt-1 (display 2" circle)
  3. Ctrl-right arrow x 16 (full circle rotation)
  4. Alt-1 (hide 2" circle)
  5. Ctrl-right arrow

A similar problem appears with a simpler sequence.

  1. Drag warboss onto map.
  2. Ctrl-right arrow
  3. Alt-1 (display 2" circle)

At this point the warboss and range circle sprites snap down and right while the selection circle stays in the correct location. Hiding the range circle returns the warboss sprite to the correct position.

Cheers
Ard

This has been reported already: vassalengine.org/forums/view … 8&start=15

Check out my test module.

Thus spake “Boss Ardnutz”:

This is fixed in svn4496. We weren’t clearing the cached bounding box
when a trait inward from the rotation trait changed.
