Hope so although I saw an old thread from July stating that version 4 had plans to do this. Is this correct? And if so, what’s the eta for version 4?

Yes, we are planning to build VASSAL 4 for iOS. I expect we will have
demo builds during 2013. I am not willing to give a time estimate for
feature parity with VASSAL 3.2.
