Can't add The Burning Blue to module library

All efforts to add The Burning Blue v 1.2 to my module library fail. Can you tell me why? Using Windows Vista 64 bit.

Start vassal. When the module manager shows up goto File > Open…

Browse to where you down loaded the module to and select it. Hit ok. Done

Tim

I have of course done this many times. The modules opens. I close it. It does not appear in the library. Using Vassal 3.2.11

That sounds weird. It should stay. Could be a java issue. Do you have multiple versions of java installed? You will ha e to check in your os program library for that

Maybe, if you give us more details about what’s failing. E.g., tell
us how you’re trying to add the module, what error you’re getting, show
us the errorLog.

I have updated my Java to the latest version and removed all earlier versions. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit with 4 gigs of RAM, Vassal 3.2.11 and module The Burning Blue 1.2 downloaded from the Vassal module site. Still have the same problem. Open the module, start a game, save it. TBB does not appear in the library, and does not appear after Vassal is closed and reopened.

I don’t get any error message - the module opens fine, but just never gets put in the library. Here is my latest Vassal error log, for what it is worth:

That’s not a complete log, which I can tell because there are no lines
showing that you opened the module, nor is there a line showing that
the Module Manager closed.

Open the Module Manager, open the module, close the module, and close
the module manager. Then find the errorLog. Look here for the location
for your OS:

vassalengine.org/wiki/Error_Logs

It should be in

C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\VASSAL

if you’re using Vista. Then post the complete errorLog here.

Ok - I opened Vassal, opened the module from the module manager (File-Open-browsed to module), started a game in the module, closed game, closed module, closed Vassal module manager. Here is the log:

(File-Open-browsed to module), started a game in the module, closed
game, closed module, closed Vassal module manager. Here is the log:

  1. Are you moving or deleting the module file after opening the module?

  2. Does this problem occur for you with other modules?

  3. Please post a screenshot of the module manager after you’ve opened
    the module.

  1. No
  2. No
  3. Picture shows module open in background with module manager in front Unfortunately cannot get a picture of the section of module manager that should contain The Burning Blue - taking the screen shot causes the manager to “slide” to the top. However, The Burning Blue does not appear in the module manager.

Are you scrolling down far enough in the Module Manager to see where The
Burning Blue would be alphabetized? We’re doing dumb string
alphabetization, not proper title alphabetization for English, so you
should be looking for it under ‘T’, not ‘B’.

J.

Yes - in fact I have searched the entire Module Manager for that very reason. it simply is not there any any name.

I mean it is not there under any name.

Thus spake designer1812:

The name the module reports is “GMT::The Burning Blue”. Look for it
under G.

J.

DUH! I feel like an idiot.
