Changing Heap (memory allocation)

I had some notes from 2006 that explained how to do this but now going back I can’t even find where I should be looking for the line to change.

I need to allocate more memory so can someone give the exact location and steps to go through again.

What OS are you using? How are you starting VASSAL, via Web Start or
by a local install?

(BTW, all this will soon be moot, as the soon-to-be-released 3.1.0-beta1
permits you to set heap sizes from the Preferences dialog.)
