Detach Chat Windows for Dual Display

Hi,

Can we have an option to detach the chat window? I’m using dual display and would like to see only the board on one screen and everything else including chat windows, tables, etc on the second.

So, 11 years later, did the ability to undock the chat area ever get implemented? I don’t see a way to do it…

You’ve always been able to undock the main map. Look for “Use Combined
Application Window” in the preferences and uncheck that. Undocking the chat
area is basically the same thing as undocking the main map, since those
take up nearly all the space in the main window.

The conclusion I reached about the docking frameworks available during
3.2 development was that they were all junk, so we didn’t go forward
with the work I described.

Ha, I had actually tried that but didn’t realize the map and main window/chat area were separated. On my monitor they were aligned and so I didn’t see anything different; I didn’t try dragging the main window.

I’m trying to use the Close Action module. When I want to change the information on the title bar of the shipslog, do the items I enter overlap with the descriptions in red? How do I enter items in the menu bar?

It’s not really my module; I just made some modifications for Mark Campbell to make it more useful for him to use running large online games.

I had never actually experimented with the ship’s log pages before, but I see what you mean. I wonder if that is caused by changes in recent versions of VASSAL.

ah ok,
I can’t seem to fix this problem. By the way, on the counter used to show orders, changing the boat name works well.
I made the following change:
i added on the ship counter a “Change sail” menu allows you to change the sails states, and I have added a ship image with the sails deployed according to. it’s more visual and simpler.
I can give you this version if you wish.
Can you send me your patches?
