The error log, as currently generated, is not an error log, per se. This log records everything while Vassal is running. Counter refreshes, etc, etc. Yes it also does log errors, but there is a plethora of other entries to wade through to find that error you are looking for. The number of entries can be huge.
Is it possible to limit the error log to only recording actual errors? All the other entries that are being logged, to be recorded to a ‘general system log’ or something similar?
The system log won’t be called “errorLog” in V4.
Just a thought I felt needed to input.
Splitting logging into separate files is not a desirable thing. It hinders troubleshooting if you can’t see what was logged all together in the order it was logged.
