Hornet Leader II installation down?

Hello!

I can not install Hornet Leader II anymore. After starting to load, the installation breaks off with an error message:

“Unable to launch the application”
“Unable to load resource: (vassalengine.org/ws/VASSAL.jar, 3.0.6)”
“java.io.IOException: missing version response from server”

Unsurprisingly, this happens on completely unrelated machines (Lenovo X61 running Windows XP and iMac running Snow Leopard).
Any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

I have in parallel emailed DVG and would post any response from them here.

This is a known problem due to the site migration. I’m travelling right
now, so won’t have time to fix it before next week.

I am experiencing the same issue. Looking forward to some form of resolution. The Hornets are getting angry! :mrgreen:

Thanks for looking into this.

However, it looks like we still have the same problem. I did a fresh download of the HLII game and the HLII demo. Here are the error messages.

Thanks for the screenshots.

HLII is using a request scheme different from the other WS requests I’ve
seen. I added an extra rule to translate the ", "-delimited request to
real filenames on our server. Try now.

At this point, it’s not clear to me what I should try next. Is there
a compelling reason why this module can’t be converted to work with
VASSAL 3.1 so that I can simply avoid solving this problem?

Joel, I do not know as it is a commercial module distributed by DVG. I have reached out Dan Verssen and his response was: “Rodney is moving the install files to a different server. We should have things running again in a couple days.” That was over a week ago.

I will follow up with Dan, including your suggestion in my message.
