Is Vassal down?

Hi all,

Is it just me, or is vassalengine.org. That site says it’s working. When I tried it today at work using IE it didn’t come up, giving me an error message (below). At home using firefox and IE it’s the same.

Thanks,

Chris

Not working since yesterday.

Thus spake “fatgreta”:

The main site was hacked yesterday. (This hasn’t affected the forum because
it runs on a different machine.) We’re trying to clean up the mess now.

I was afraid it was hacked. I was hoping someone had merely misplaced a file.

That totally sucks. Good luck fixing it. I reckon it’s impossible to ever catch the bastards, but if you do let us know. We’ll take shifts making them play Monopoly against us forever.

Thus spake “fatgreta”:

My guess is that it was an automated attack on a vulnerability in Mambo.
Chances are it was staged from another compromised machine, so, it’s
unlikely that anybody would ever be caught for it.

I’m going to try to move us to the new site tonight, rather than clean
up the old one, as without the logs (no logs, argh!) we can’t tell what
the vulnerability was.
