Issues with Vassal installation with Java on PC

Tried to install Vassal a couple of times yesterday. Every time I try to open it I get this message:

“The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted. The system cannot find the path specified.”

Help!

The problem is not VASSAL. The problem is a corrupt install of Java.
Reinstall Java.

Uninstalled all forms of Java on computer, uninstalled Vassal, reinstalled newest version of Java, reinstalled Vassal, still same message. Thoughts?
