List Key Commands window can't be reopened after dismissing

I just noticed some peculiar behavior with the “List Tool Commands” tool found under the “Tools” menu when editing a module. If that window is closed using the “OK” button in the window, then it can be opened again by selecting that menu item. However, if that window is “dismissed” at the O/S level (e.g. - via the red circular button at the top left of the window on MacOS), then it can no longer be reopened via the menu item. The module edit session needs to be restarted to get it to appear again.

Is this the expected behavior?

I saw this with the following combinations on MacOS Ventura 13.1:
Vassal 3.6.14 with Turning Point Stalingrad v1.0
Vassal 3.6.14 with Paths of Glory v10.5
Vassal 3.6.14 with Paths of Glory v10.5

Thanks Jim – that’s not the expected behavior, but has probably been a bug since we first introduced that List Key Commands window.

I have submitted a fix as PR 12158 (12158 - 'List Key Commands' tool can be re-opened after closing with X button by Cattlesquat · Pull Request #12158 · vassalengine/vassal · GitHub) which should probably appear in the next beta build of 3.7 (e.g. 3.7.0-beta2) and then whenever 3.7.0 is released.

The fix is merged now. You’ll see it in 3.7.0-beta2 when that’s released.
