When I look at my list of New and/or Unread topics, the little squares to the left of the topics are not working.
What little squares? Would you provide a screenshot?

Iām expecting a check mark or X to appear in the box when I click on it so I can then Dismiss the topic permanently. If there were more than one thread, they could all be dismissed permanently in this manner at the readerās discretion, without affecting threads that the reader does not want to dismiss permanently. In other words, it allowed the reader to permanently unfollow threads by checking them, while continuing to follow others. Iām pretty sure this is how it worked until recently.
Also, you might remember there was a bug in this forum software, a couple of years ago, wherein threads that were dismissed permanently in fact were not. That is, they kept reappearing. So maybe this is something related to that.
Thatās not what those boxes are for. The boxes indicate topics which are labeled as questions; the ticks indicate that those questions have been marked as answered.
