Looking for an AH 1776 Opponent!

Gents: 8)

Looking for an American opponent for Avalon Hill’s 1776 game!

Would like to play a short campaign game (CSG-2) 24 turns: JAN, 1776 to end of DEC, 1777.

Leisurely pace - 2-3 turns per week. Optional rules are negotiable.

Note - I’ve played 1776 for many years, but am new to the Vassal system - so please be patient with me!

I have the 2nd edition rules. I am using Vassal file: 1776-v0.2

File (1776-v0.2) found here ----> vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:1776

Interested? Please email me: mikewest455@gmail.com

Are you talking about PBEM (play by email) or logging in together and playing a few turns a week?
I would be interested, but this particular game I have never played and do not have the rulebook.

This game request is closed!

Thank you for your interest.

I have a copy and wouldlike to do a PBM if you are still interested.

Hi, I knows it’s passed half a life time  but if anyone on this listing is still interested in a 1776 please contact me.

I could be interested though it would have to be the more basic/original campaign game without the new version of leader counters involved.

Thanks

Tom Y

Yes email me and we can set it up.

I have a copy of the 2nd ed rules for 1776.

My brother & I played it via vassal but we had to connect live to conduct any battles. Not sure how the battle resolution would work with the tactics cards and such.

Thanks - Tom

Easy.
There is a website that has the cards all set up and ready to go.
You need to register but it’s free.

Go to ACTS WARHORSE SIMULATIONS (very well known gaming website)
http://acts.warhorsesim.com/index.asp

Follow the directions to register your email.
Once you are in you will see a bunch of games that require cards like For the People, Barbarossa to Berlin, Napoleonic Wars, Paths of Glory etc.

For the less popular and oldish games you need to go to [Custom Modules] (it’s the last of the group), click it and select 1776.

It’s easier than what it sounds.

I created an account in the ACTS Warhorse Sim but did not “create” a new 1776 game.

Now what?

Thanks - Tom Y

Excellent!
I can set it up, no problem, it takes two minutes, but I need your name or username that you used during registration.

You can email it to my gaming email:

Thanks

Not sure if I missed something but if you are waiting for me I probably missed something on our 1776 board game discussion.

My email is tomarmy62@gmail.com which is what I am replying to you from RN

What is next for us to get a tournament game going?

Thanks,

Tom Y

All set up, check your email.

I have to trot off in a few minutes but I did check my emails & after I downloaded what you previously sent, it lead to Vassal & the 1776 game but when I was presented the options of “Select side” I was given two choices: British or Solo. I opted for British and this is what I now am seeing:

Something is off, I think.

No, that is fine, we are playing with Fog of war [optional rule III (28)]. Page 21 bottom right.

For a printing error it doesn’t have a red number 28 like the other Optional rules but it’s correct.

I placed my Brit “At-Start” counters. I will review the rules for movement, supply, loading of TR etc and get back to you soon.
