Mac OS 10.7 and Java.

The upcoming Lion (10.7) release of Mac OS X will not include a Java runtime by default, although it reportedly has a relatively painless way to install one. (See link below). I don’t think this will be an issue for Vassal, though, although one might need to update the download documentation to mention this.

Any further news on this now that Lion has been released?

First time you run a java app you get a dialog asking you if you’d like to install java. It downloads from Apple and installs, and the app relaunches. From then on it works as before. No problems.
