Map Board Creation

Forgive me as this must have been asked many times, but I can’t easily find comprehensive information on map board creation.

Specifics:
Miniatures wargame. I need to create map boards that represent two different physical tabletop sizes:
8 foot wide by 5 foot deep
and
6 foot wide by 4 foot deep

Individual miniatures are on stands that are 60mm by 60mm.

What pixel size image corresponds to each of these tabletop sizes?

Any other step by step map board creation info?

Thank you!

There is no single answer. It depends on the amount of detail you need to
represent.
The miniature based are roughly one inch square. So I would start by
figuring out what a good image size is for the base that lets you really
see the information you want to have on the base.
A second consideration is the resolution you need for miniature placement
on your board.

Once you have found a good size for the bases you can come the pixel size
for your table sizes.
Just have a choice of mail to handle your two sizes of table.

Given that the table sizes is large compared to a lot of game boards/maps,
I would counsel going small on the base size.

Then try a couple sizes for the base with a very simple single color map
until you are happy with the results.
